Summary

Most researchers of Japanese linguistics are inexperienced in corpus analysis. It is hard for them to enter the field of corpus Japanese linguistics, because a standard research methodology has not been established in this field. To establish such a research methodology, we are conducting leading-edge research in three basic areas: Lexico-syntactic-stylistic studies, historical studies, and speech and dialogue studies. We also host an annual research meeting that is open to all researchers for the dissemination of corpus-based analyses of Japanese.
