Introduction

The Department of Corpus Studies is conducting three basic research projects: research on corpus annotation for existing corpora, design of a diachronic Japanese corpus, and research on the foundations of Japanese corpus linguistics.

Message from the Director

Data and theory are both indispensable for a science. Creation of a vision for new data is necessary for the design of high-quality resources, and unbiased data is absolutely necessary for the construction of a new theory.
